India's vision of Viksit Bharat 2047 outlines a long-term roadmap for achieving the status of a developed nation by the 100th anniversary of its independence. The initiative emphasizes economic progress, social inclusion, technological advancement, and sustainable growth. Achieving these objectives depends on coordinated efforts among government institutions, industry, academic and research organizations, and citizens, ensuring that development are both participatory and beneficial to all sections of society. Artificial Intelligence has emerged as one of the most powerful technologies shaping this transformation. Once confined to research laboratories and large technology companies, AI has now become an integral part of everyday life, influencing how people learn, work, access healthcare, and interact with public institutions. In India, AI is helping doctors provide better healthcare in remote regions, enabling farmers to make informed decisions on crop management, supporting personalized learning in classrooms, improving urban services, and strengthening governance through faster, data-driven decision-making. These developments demonstrate AI's growing potential to improve both the quality of life and the efficiency of public service delivery. This study examines the transformative role of Artificial Intelligence in advancing the objectives of Viksit Bharat 2047 by exploring its applications in key sectors such as agriculture, healthcare, education, urban management, and governance. It also analyses how automation and digital technologies contribute to improving administrative efficiency, transparency, and citizen-centric service delivery. In addition, the paper discusses major challenges, including the digital divide, data privacy, cybersecurity, ethical concerns, and workforce readiness, while offering practical recommendations such as strengthening digital infrastructure, encouraging citizen participation, promoting public-private partnerships, and investing in skill development to ensure the responsible and inclusive adoption of AI.
