Abstract

No doubt shortage of capital is an obstacle to the development of economy of an individual or a country. But the socio-cultural condition is also an important factor to the economic development. Therefore, to understand the economic development of a society, it is necessary to observe their socio-cultural systems. This study makes an effort to analyse the economic impact of socio-cultural activities of Deori community on their livelihood. For the purpose of the present study, we have selectedfour villages i.e.-Majorchapori, Kinapather, Borchapori and Kundil Nagarunder Narayanpur Development Block of Lakhimpur District, Assam.
