Abstract

The critical role of education in the development of a nation is undeniable, with educators' expertise and commitment playing a key part in its progress. The knowledge, professionalism, dedication, and motivation of teachers have a significant impact on the quality of education and students' academic success. Governments worldwide are challenged to produce highly skilled educators capable of delivering exceptional education. The rapid growth of knowledge in pedagogy, psychology, philosophy, sociology, and globalization has increased the demands on teachers. There is an urgent need for innovative teacher training programs to meet the changing needs of the education sector. Consequently, the current teacher education curriculum must undergo thorough evaluation, reform, and realignment. The Indian government is committed to enhancing the quality of the country's education system at all levels, in line with the National Education Policy 2020 (NEP 2020). This research aims to investigate the evolving responsibilities of educator preparation programs and outline the various roles instructors must fulfill in accordance with NEP 2020.
